SRA Rejects US Claims RE: Iran

Say NO to war with Iran!

It has become somewhat of a tradition, it seems, for the US to use misrepresentations of apparent attacks on naval vessels as an excuse for military intervention. The USS Maine in 1898, the Lusitania in 1915, the Gulf of Tonkin incident in 1964. Now John Bolton and his allies in the military industrial complex are beating the war drums yet again, this time calling for war with Iran.

The attacks on oil tankers in the Persian Gulf and Gulf of Oman appear to be obvious false flags. There is no sound geopolitical reason for Iran to inflame tensions with the US at this time, and particularly no reason for them to attack a Japanese vessel while in the midst of peace talks with the Japanese Prime Minister. The attacks happened under cover of darkness with no visible perpetrator, and no evidence of Iran's involvement other than John Bolton's vague claims of ill-defined threats, via classified intelligence.

It is perfectly clear who benefits from war with Iran: the Saudi Arabian royal family, Raytheon, Lockheed Martin, Chevron, and ExxonMobil. Whoever is carrying out these attacks, whether they be American or Arab, is doing so with those parties' interests in mind.

And who would be harmed by this pointless war? The American and Iranian people. There would be tens of thousands of soldiers dead and wounded on both sides; likely thousands of civilian casualties; and at least billions, if not trillions of dollars in economic damages and national debt for both countries. An American-Iranian war would be a disaster, a pointless exercise in American imperial belligerance.

Say NO to John Bolton's Middle Eastern adventurism. Say NO to collaboration with the Saudis. Say NO to shoveling more lives and money into the ravenous maw of the American war machine.

Say NO to war with Iran!
